Description
Lost Boys and Fairies is a 2024 miniseries created by Welsh writer Daf James and produced by the BBC and Duck Soup Films. The trilogy follows their adoption journey, as they meet and form an emotional bond with a vulnerable 7-year-old boy, Jake, under the guidance of social worker Jackie (Elizabeth Berrington). Through conversations, home visits, and a speed-dating-style meeting day with foster children, Gabriel’s past is gradually unraveled. His trauma is examined: the loss of his mother, a distant father, drugs, and his struggle with identity as a gay man amid Thatcherite politics. Shot in Cardiff, the series stars Sion Daniel Young (Gabriel), Fra Fee (Andy), Elizabeth Berrington (Jacky), and Leo Harris (Jake).
