"you say yes and then I throw the anchor overboard"

During this scene, Bassie neatly ties a string to the anchor. Adriaan says that if he says yes, Bassie can throw the anchor overboard. Bassie checks to see if he understood correctly and repeats Adriaan's words, asking, "Did I understand correctly?" Adriaan then says, "Yes!" and Bassie throws the anchor into the water far too early. But Bassie is stupid, but not smart, because he neatly tied a string to the anchor. He did forget one thing, though: to tie the string to the boat.
