Trevor Bingley is a caretaker at St Aldwyn's Primary School. There, he eventually finds a baby on his doorstep.
The filming took place at Longfield Hall in Camberwell.
Longfield Hall was built by William Minet and completed in 1889. It was designed by architect George Hubbard. What makes Longfield Hall so architecturally unique is that it is an intact, late-Victorian community hall. Since its opening, Longfield Hall has had many uses—from Cinderella dances to fruit parties. In the 1970s, it was home to the Dark & Light Theatre Club, Britain's first publicly funded Black theatre company.
