August Final Concert

In August Rush, the grand finale takes place here, in which August conducts his composition for a large audience in the park. The stage stands in the middle of an open field, surrounded by trees and with the Manhattan skyline in the background.

The scene was filmed in Central Park, on the lawn of Sheep Meadow. For the film, a concert setting was constructed here with an orchestra and over 500 extras as the audience. The crowd and skyline have been made larger and denser on screen than in reality, but the basis of the location is real.
