Lincoln Center

In August Rush, scenes depicting the world of classical music are filmed at the Lincoln Center, particularly around the Juilliard School and the concert halls within the complex. Here, you see Lyla as a cellist in a professional, formal musical setting, in contrast to Evan's street music elsewhere in the film.

Filming took place around Columbus Avenue, between 63rd and 64th Street, where the recognizable stairs, plazas, and modern buildings of the Lincoln Center are clearly visible.

Standing here, you recognize the location by the open plaza with fountains and the symmetrical buildings surrounding it. This is the place where the film shows the transition between street music and the established classical music world.
