Street performance with Wizard

In August Rush, Evan (August) plays guitar here while Wizard (Robin Williams) observes and directs him. The scene was filmed on the upper tier surrounding Wollman Rink in Central Park, New York.

You can recognize the location by the metal fence along the path and the view of the skating rink, which lies just below the level of the path and is sometimes still visible in the shot. In the background, you can see the skyline of Midtown Manhattan.

When you stand here, you are on the elevated path around the rink, looking out over the park with the city behind it — exactly the perspective used in the film.
