In episode 4 of Adolescence, set thirteen months after Jamie's arrest, the Miller family tries to get their lives back on track. It's Eddie's 50th birthday. Eddie's van has been defaced with and in order to repair the damage, Eddie and his family go to a hardware store to buy paint. There they are confronted by an employee who expresses his support for Jamie, which further increases tensions. During their visit to the store, the family is also harassed by neighborhood children. The scene from the Miller family's home to the hardware store is also filmed in one shot. The route goes from Carr View (Jamie's home) via Beacon View, Carr ln, White Apron st, Hemsworth Rd, Ave Lodeve to Data Dr where the hardware store was located.
